Letter From Debbie

Hello Everybody;

Although the Facelift Gang are a high-spirited bunch, we seldom get to laugh as much as we did throughout this kitchen and deck makeover.

Margaret's wonderful family, especially son Stephen and daughter Sabrina, who wrote for our help, have an indomitable spirit they obviously get from their mom. We had a great time even when heavy rain threatened to wash out our outdoor design plans.

And as this happy family pitched in to help us, once again I saw the pride and pleasure that comes from taking on a job and learning a new skill.

There is nothing like the feeling of completing a task and seeing how the outcome of your labours can transform a room.

Whether it's a four-year-old holding a paintbrush for the first time or a grateful son eager to learn how to stick up a row of kitchen tiles, it really does make a lasting impression.

In her letter, Margaret tells us how this Facelift changed her family as well as her surroundings. That is the best thanks I can receive.

And I hope that by watching the show other families and extended families and friends will get inspired to help each other fix up a tired room or two.

When the rain stopped we had just enough time to transform the deck into a picture of serenity. This completed a joyful four days and a brilliant Facelift.

Letter From Margaret

Dear Debbie;

My experience with you was an incredible event. Never have I seen a group of people do so much for someone they didn't even know. This really touched me.

My first impression as I walked into my home was "Who is this woman in my kitchen? Ö and is this my kitchen?" To my amazement this was my kitchen. I was awestruck by the change.

The colours are astonishing, and the biggest surprise is the plasma TV on my kitchen wall. It adds an entire new feel to the surroundings.

As for the deck, well, that is something out of a fairy tale. You turned it from a nightmare into a dream. I couldn't believe this was the same place that I had disowned due to its appearance and unwelcome lack of appeal. Now it's the place where I'll spend a lot of time enjoying the outdoors.

This entire makeover has made a world of difference for my family and me. It's just what we all needed. A change in our surroundings has caused an amazing change in our family and I thank you Debbie and the Gang for all you have done for us. Come again anytime.
