Hello Everybody;

Where do we get our inspiration? How do we know what colours to pick? Two very good questions, and the answers should give you the confidence to strike out on your own and try a new decorating direction. Inspiration and ideas for the Facelifts come from many sources.

In Melanie's loft, I got the idea for the cement "noodle wall" from a similar installation in a hotel lobby. Whenever I'm in a restaurant, or traveling, I study the clever effects and imaginative use of materials new places have to offer.

There's an endless supply of decorating solutions out there just waiting for you. Try out one or two in your home; I guarantee you won't be sorry.

Choosing colours for someone else isn't as easy, and I often find myself battling with anxious relatives like Zoher who was panicking at the thought of Melanie's reaction to green and especially fuchsia.

But I try to connect with the personality of the absent homeowner, and hope they have an adventurous spirit. Anyone can paint a wall white.

My job is to stretch the boundaries and show you what's fresh and new. All I ask is that the unsuspecting homeowners live with the new design and colour for a week -- be open-minded and see if the experience is making you feel better or worse.

I am very familiar with doubting relatives and worried friends -- these go with the show. I have gathered confidence from the dozens of happy unsuspecting customers who have received a Facelift and wouldn't have it any other way.

Follow your heart and be brave. You'll thank yourself for trying.
