![]() Letter From DebbieHi Everybody; According to her friends Karen is a very special person and quiet a courageous one. ![]() After loosing her husband 10 years ago Karen decided to have a baby. She would go it alone. ![]() Her friends would be there for her throughout her birth but what she did not know is that many of her friends would also be with The Facelift team in her weekend cottage. ![]() This little home by the lake was in desperate need of some t.l.c. Karen had shared all her weekends with friends and familys up at the cottage and now they would repay her hospitality by helping us transform this 80's style house into a hip, cool pad. ![]() Unsuspectingly while Karen huffed and puffed in the hospital we did the same thing, ripping out carpet and pulling down her walls. ![]() It took us days to completely reinvent her place and the results were exciting and gorgeous. Nothing quite as beautiful as her new baby boy. Love, ![]() Letter From KarenDear Debbie; It has been two months since you and the Facelift team delivered my new cottage, and still, each time I walk in it feels so warm and friendly. Thinking back to the hidden camera interview with my friends I'm glad I wasn't very helpful. I would never have been able to imagine creating anything as unique and suited to my lifestyle. I can't believe you were able to design a house that suits me so well and that I enjoy so much. ![]() The cottage is a place I go to enjoy the company of my family and friends and this experience has made me realize just how important that is to me. I'm not generous with my cottage in the expectation of getting something in return, so the effort my friends and family put into the project is not only overwhelming but heartwarming as well. ![]() When I walked in during the unveiling I was in a daze from the birth of my son, Owen, just two weeks before. The shock of the new red walls and new furniture really floored me. Oh yeah, and how about those great floors! I'm so happy those awful carpets are gone. Looking back at my reaction, I would have been more expressive had I received the full impact of the room. But I was distracted by all my friends and family staring at me in silence. I was waiting for someone to say or do something and I didn't realize I was supposed to be the one "doing something"! ![]() Thanks again to you and your team for such an incredible surprise. You are all welcome to visit any time. After all, there is still the upstairs that could use a facelift! Sincerely, |
