Letter From Debbie

Hello Everybody;

There is a dreaded phenomenon going on out there. Kids are no longer leaving home. Or, even worse, they go away to school and then, help, they come back. This is the case with Nicholas. Nico had been at college in New Jersey and throughout his stay there, he had fallen in love with the big city, Manhattan.

Everything about New York intrigued him and according to his large Italian family his dream was to have a New York penthouse. After completing his college years there was not enough money for a studio apartment, never mind a penthouse in the big city, so Nico returned home.

Now he is living in the basement of his parents' home, and his girlfriend, sister and mother turned to me to save the day. Could I make Nico's dreams come true, and give him his Manhattan penthouse on a New Jersey budget?

While he was away on a short business trip to Italy, the Facelift team moved in. The makeover is spectacular, but we very nearly had a disaster.

You need to watch the show to see what happened, but I will tell you that this was a huge lesson in how careful you must be when working around fire. Yup! We nearly burned the house down! Enjoy the show.

Letter From Nicholas

Dear Debbie;

Arriving back home after a beautiful week in Italy, I was surprised to come home to an empty house. As I walked down the stairs, I got more puzzled and confused. I tried to process it all, the lights, the camera, the room, the colours, and, of course, Debbie. There she was greeting me with a huge smile and all I could think of was "What in the world is going on?" A rush of emotions took over my mind and I was simply speechless.

Two thumbs up to your entire team for turning my gloomy, out-dated, 70's basement into this amazing "Manhattan Loft" bachelor pad. Everything from the custom made wall unit (which solved my storage nightmare) to the incredible kitchen table is simply spectacular. The colors and clean lines define my personal style.

Perhaps even more surprising was the fact that my entire family kept it all a secret for so long. Here I am with this incredible room, but my mom, dad, sister, and girlfriend hold all the memories. Oops, I forgot Mr. Bailey. (hahaha) I am truly blessed with an amazing family. And special thanks go out to my soccer buddies who got down and dirty with the demolition process.

My sincere thanks to you and your entire crew for making all of this possible. How it all came together in such a short period of time is still a mystery to me. I'm truly fortunate to have had the "FACELIFT EXPERIENCE".
