![]() Letter From DebbieHi Everyone; The first time I went to the Reverend's home to meet him, he was still asleep. The first, second, and come to think of it, the third time he was supposed to come to my office, he was late or did not show. ![]() If this were any other potential Facelift, I would have jumped ship. However, Rev. Gray is not your typical homeowner, or Reverend, not that I've met that many. The Rev. Gray is an angel, albeit one that is chronically late; he is a good, good man. ![]() He has more on his agenda than anyone I know, saving souls, administering his church, helping refugees, and now trying to surprise his loving wife Olive with a brand new kitchen. ![]() Olive is the mother of four daughters, and is always by the Reverend's side. As a minister's wife her home was ordinary, and the kitchen desperate for help. ![]() When I first talked with the Reverend about how we were going to get Olive away for the four days it would take to make over her kitchen, I explained that he was going to have to lie. ![]() This man of the cloth exclaimed, pointing to the sky, that it was okay according to his Boss. "He calls it embellishment." ![]() The Facelift team had a hilarious time with the family. The workload was huge, but with help from the girls and the Reverend, when we could nab him away from his church duties, we gave his wife the kitchen of her dreams. Debbie ![]() Letter From OliveFirst of all I would like to thank God for sending this blessing our way. And for all the people who helped make it happen. I'm still in my wow mood whenever I enter my new kitchen. I know it's wrong but I was always complaining about my kitchen. The darkness of the wood looked gloomy, the multi-colored tiles on the wall didn't match anything and the style was old fashioned. ![]() I'm a person who believes that anything worth having is worth waiting for, so I accepted the fact that this is what I had and was grateful. I remember coming home from work one day and Darryl asking me, "If I could change any room what room would it be?" I gave him details of what my dream kitchen would be like. ![]() I did not ask many questions when I was sent to see my mom for four days because any opportunity to go back to Nova Scotia was good enough for me, but I did wonder why Darryl or Thaydra couldn't come too. When I arrived back home and opened the door I didn't recognize my kitchen. I checked the number on the house and didn't see my family, but my sister told me to go on inside. ![]() The feeling was one I will never ever forget. I was so amazed at what I saw. Debbie Travis and her staff are welcome into my home at any time! According to reports I've heard from Darryl (the Reverend), Lacie, Barina, Jolisha and Thaydra, you have become a BIG part of the Gray Family. You've given us a spirit we will never forget. Thank you very much for bringing love into our home and our hearts and smiles on our faces. You make a difference in the lives of so many people. God Bless You, We LOVE You. Olive |
