Letter From Debbie

Emma is a good soul. I first met her vibrant Greek family and her close friends when her best friend got us all together. This was their story. Emma had always lived at home under the watchful eye of her loving parents.

Although she adored her Mom and Dad, at 26 the time had come for her to leave the nest, but this is not always so easy when you are part of a very traditional European family!

A compromise was met; Emma would get her independence but they would be near by, very near. Her parents bought a duplex and the plan was that they would live upstairs and Emma would have the basement apartment.

Emma was ecstatic with her new home, but not with the décor. With little money to spare, she had decided to give up on ever having a glamorous place and just be happy she had a small space of her own.

That's when her best friend Helen approached the Facelift team. I have to say it was great fun remodeling Emma's dingy bachelorette into a hip, cheerful retreat.

But the most exciting part of this four-day makeover was her family. Relatives came at us from every corner, and boy, did they cook up a storm. Every day we were treated to delicious lunches of souvlaki, feta salads and, of course, Greek wine.

Emma was thrilled with her new place and we are all trying to lose the pounds that packed on while we were there.

Letter From Emma

Dear Debbie;

The amazing part of all this is that while I was in New York visiting, I kept looking in home décor stores and getting ideas for how I could decorate my new apartment. And when I arrived home, there you were.

The first thing I saw as I was getting closer to my house was a huge spotlight. I began to panic and cry, thinking something had happened to my parents. As I opened the car door, I saw all the cameras and then I saw you. I couldn't believe what was happening.

This is the most amazing thing that has ever happened to me. I cannot explain in words what I felt that day. I just want to say that my apartment looks great.

I want to thank my family and friends, but most of all you and your crew for all the hard work you put in. Thank you very much to Facelift.
