Corian® is the original solid surface material, first developed in 1963 by DuPont^TM. It is now available in over 100 colors, and provides consumers with endless design possibilities including custom shaping, edge treatments, custom in-lay designs, drain boards, integral sinks, and so much more. Corian® is a nonporous surface that is easy to clean and maintain, and is both heat and stain resistant. Corian® can be used for applications throughout the home including countertops, backsplashes, vanity tops, wall cladding, tub and shower surrounds, desktops, fireplace surrounds and windowsills, just to name a few. Corian® carries a 10-year transferable installed warranty backed by DuPont^TM, a company that celebrated its 200th anniversary in 2002. DuPont^TM is based in Wilmington, Del., U.S.A., and is noted for its scientific achievements and innovation - providing products and services that improve the lives of people everywhere. The color we chose for the molded countertop in Andy's kitchen was Shale (3).
